About Dr. Qureshi

Dr. Badeea Qureshi MD

Dr. Badeea Qureshi is a visionary psychiatrist whose practice weaves together the intricate threads of mind, body, and spirit with profound sensitivity and insight.

She earned her medical degree from the University of Liverpool School of Medicine, UK, and completed a rigorous residency in Psychiatry at the University of Washington’s Psychiatry Residency Program, Department of Behavioral Sciences.

Dr. Qureshi approaches psychiatry with a deep reverence for the human experience, exploring the profound connections between psychological distress and life’s pivotal moments. Her expertise encompasses areas such as death anxiety and aging, perinatal psychiatry, and the transformative journey of new motherhood. She is dedicated to guiding individuals through significant life events—including cancer diagnoses, severe illnesses, divorce, and loss—by addressing both immediate emotional needs and deeper existential questions.

In her practice, Dr. Qureshi fosters a reflective space for exploring the self and its place in the universe. She engages with existential themes of meaning, purpose, and morality, encouraging a holistic examination of one’s inner and outer worlds. Her work integrates a global perspective on social justice, political climates, and the complexities of race, identity, and value systems, acknowledging the spiritual dimensions of these issues.

Dr. Qureshi embraces a compassionate and integrative approach to mental health, recognizing the spiritual and psychological dimensions of challenges related to finances, sexual health, and personal relationships. Her dedication to understanding both the micro and macro aspects of the human experience enables her to offer a uniquely profound and empathetic form of care.

In terms of medication, Dr. Qureshi specializes in medication management with a focus on creating personalized treatment regimens designed to be time-limited and adaptive to each patient’s needs. Her patients appreciate this approach as opposed to relying on long-term, chronic medications. She emphasizes the importance of deprescribing when appropriate, actively working to minimize the risks of polypharmacy.

Her method involves ensuring that medications are given an adequate trial at therapeutic doses before considering alternative options, to avoid prematurely labeling a treatment as a “failed trial.” She is committed to practicing evidence-based medicine while also recognizing the need for individualized adjustments to address unique patient circumstances. Every appointment includes a thorough consideration of medication management, and Dr. Qureshi is dedicated to practicing high-quality medicine, including the clinical judgment to withhold medications when necessary.

With a blend of spiritual sensitivity and scientific expertise, Dr. Qureshi provides a nurturing space for individuals to explore and heal from life’s deepest challenges, guiding them toward greater self-awareness and inner harmony.
